One year of health leave is far too much, no
matter how much his doctor insisted he needed it. One year of having to
live with his twin brother and the two married couples splitting rent
with him instead of on the PSI campus nearly had him ready to tear
things apart, but he’s finally back at work, eager to find out what’s
happened in his absence.
He strides through PSI’s halls in the heels he’s famous for wearing, in
his usual uniform. He catches the looks his colleagues give or otherwise
avoid giving him, he acknowledges the pleasantries, he feels the
awkwardness in the air from no one quite knowing how to address the
elephant in the room or the eyepatch on his face.
Vy ignores the feelings, pushing them to the back of his head, and he
makes his way to his superiors and addresses them in the most respectful
way he can.
“Hey, I’m back from getting fucked over in the vision department. Did anyone kick it while I was gone?”
