Vy flashes a smile, hoping it comes across as sincere as he would like to be under different circumstances. “Oh, well, you know, it’s not like I was working alone. I had agents Caballero and Dunst there too.” He turns his head to check that the two of them are still beside him, but they seem to have vanished at some point in the conversation. He frowns but refocuses his attention on Roman. “The two of them did the heavy lifting, especially after, well...” He points at his eye patch.

“Ooh, an empath,” Roman hums. “Don’t see a lot of those around here...”
“Not a lot of true empath psychics out there,” Vy agrees. “I’m the only one at PSI, as far as I know.”
Bernie snorts. “That must be why you still have a job here.”
Vy thins his lips while Roman chuckles. Bernie may have been using a joking tone, but Vy can read the harshness behind those words. Even after all these years, Bernie is still pissed about what happened...
