Bernie frowns and takes hold of Roman’s arm. “He’s tough. He’s had vacation time.”
Vy glances to one side at Minerva and Hector who are busy talking with Claudia, and unable to see Hugo or Lupita on his right side with a missing eye.
The mesh of emotions here aren’t the most soothing for his nerves, but he has to say something. Even if it’s just to swallow his pride and deflect the situation, get some sort of better emotion in play. “Glad you got yourself thawed out, Queens. And, uh.” He motions at Bernie. “Agent Piloto. Been a while...”
“I hope you’ve enjoyed yourself while away, Reiter.” Bernie’s tone terse and vibes rancid, Vy doesn’t need to be an empath to tell how annoyed Bernie is, but they’re both stuck in this conversation regardless.
Roman, thankfully, doesn’t seem to notice with how awkward he is himself. “I’m glad someone was there to find me. It’s been... an adjustment.”
